steveSteven Norton-Ashley
Marine carpenter / joiner
Steve has been with YachtSmiths since 2007, when he and his family arrived in Canada from the UK. He brings with him over 20 years experience in all phases of luxury yacht building, specializing in fine carpentry work. Steve has been the shop foreman at Yachtsmiths since 2009. He has a certificate in Marine Systems from ABYC, and has recently been awarded a Diploma in Boat building from the Nova Scotia Community College. He also functions as a mentor for junior employees.

conradConrad Ball
Marine carpenter / joiner
Conrad has over 15 years of boat building experience and has graduated from the boat building program at Community College in New Brunswick in 1990. He has been with Yachtsmiths since 2007.

johnJohn Lake
metal work / engine installation and maintenance
John has been with us since 2003. He has been the lead welder for all of our 40 to 65 foot yachts - both steel and aluminium. He takes pride in building a safe and functional vessel. John also has an excellent reputation for engine installation and solving engine-related problems. John has his ABYC certification in Marine Systems, and has recently been awarded a Diploma in Boat building from the Nova Scotia Community College. He also functions as a mentor for junior employees.

ryanRyan Lake

Ryan has been with YachtSmiths since 2007. Ryan holds a diploma in welding from the Nova Scotia Community college. He has over 10 years experience in Metal Fabrication, and specializes in both mig and tig welding and loves a challenge. Ryan is currently working towards his Boat Building diploma at Yachtsmiths, he has his introductory course in Yacht Painting from Awlgrip and is responsible for fairing and painting our boats.

anthonyAnthony Burke

Anthony joined Yachtsmiths in 2011. He is currently working towards his Boat Building diploma at Yachtsmiths, and already holds a diploma in welding from the Nova Scotia Community college. He has over 10 years experience in Metal Fabrication, and specializes in fuel tanks and pipe work. He is currently working on the 65 foot aluminum yacht in the shop.

robertRobert Rouleau

One of our first employees (2002), Robert is an expert in marine systems. He has "seen it all" and stays abreast of the latest technology.

oliOli Gunnarsson
fiberglass technician
Oli hails from Iceland where he has worked with the marine fiberglass industry for several years. He moved to Canada 15 years ago with Gaski Boats International, and has been with YachtSmiths since 2005. Oli has the well deserved reputation as being one of the leading fiberglassers in Atlantic Canada.

Kevin has been with YachtSmiths since 2006. He has experience in most areas of boat building and is respected by management and staff as a hard worker with the ability to get the job completed on time and effeciently.
